Game Day

Jason brought Sloanie to the first LSU game of the season this morning. He asked Jackson if he wanted to go, but Jack wanted no part of it. And of course, Sloan was jumping up and down asking to go. She was a trooper, walking to the stadium and cheering for the Tigers. But the heat was pretty bad, so they had to leave after the first quarter. And she got to come home and tell her big brother about the jets that buzzed over the stadium. The best thing to her, though, were the pom poms and her first taste of frozen lemonade. Yummy.

Cheerleader Tryouts

Ice Cream Face

This child has a chronic disease called messy eater syndrome. I don't think a meal or snack has gone by since birth without her getting it all over her face, in her hair, or both. I'm hoping there is a huge leap in stem cell research that may cure this problem before she reaches dating age, otherwise she may have to live with her daddy and I forever. Ice cream is the worst, however, because once it dries her hair becomes crunchy and there's no hope of getting a brush through it. If the researchers don't come through she may have to go through life with a crew cut.

More School Pics

The kids both got new backpacks and uniforms for school this year. Jack's uniform is mandatory for Pre-K, but I got some for Sloan, too, since its just easier than trying to pick something out everyday.

First Day of School !!!

The kids had a meet and greet at school yesterday. It was no big deal for Sloan since she was returning to Mariza's class, but we were a little concerned about how Jackson would react to his new teacher and class. But he did really well. His Spanish teacher is Ms. Gloria from Chile and his French teacher is Ms. Nadia from Belgium. He was a little quiet, but polite, and had a lot of fun exploring his new environment. This morning as we were driving to school he was not happy to hear that I had to walk him to class because I needed to bring his pillow/blanket/mat in. He told me that he remembered how to find his new classroom and he wanted to go by himself. I let him lead the way (sure enough the little poot knew exactly where to go) and when he walked in he put his backpack in the right place under his name, waved to Gloria and said "ola," and headed straight for her dinosaur collection like he had been doing this for months. He is really turning out to be a cool little kid.

Tea Time

Sloan spent most of the evening playing quietly in her room. After a while, I got suspicious about what she was doing so I went to investigate. I found her having a tea party on her floor with her Winnie the Pooh and friends stuffed animals. Unfortunately, she didn't have enough teacups so poor Eeyore had to get his tea from a bottle.
