Jack's New Haircut
Jason brought Jack to get his haircut this morning and he was soooo good! He jumped up onto the chair and let the hairdresser have her way with him. She went right to work with the clippers and he got a great haircut. I think he looks even more like Jason when his hair is really short and mama was sure to tell him how handsome she thought he looked when he got home. From the grin on his face I think he liked being told how pretty he is, once again, just like daddy :)

Bug Week
The kids are learning about bugs at school this week. Sloan was adamant that this was the correct orientation for her picture. I guess the "artist" knows best :)

Back to School
The kids both did well going back to school yesterday. There was some clinging and hesitation, but no crying/kicking/screaming, so overall a huge success. Jack even said he had a great time at school when I picked him up. And best of all, Sloan made it through the whole 6 hours, even nap time, without an accident. I was shocked when I picked her up to see her in the same clothes I had sent her in. I thought for sure she would have at least one accident. She's a big girl!

Throwing in the Towel
Just in case anyone was placing bets on how long I would last at home with the kids everyday - the official answer is two weeks. As of this morning the kids are enrolled in the summer Mother's Day Out program at St. John's again, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have a feeling tomorrow morning will be pretty rough dropping them off after so much time away, especially in Jack's case, but I already know it will be well worth it. So now Jack's swimming lessons will be pushed back to July 9-Aug. 2 at 4pm instead of in the morning so he can do both. And now I'm going to go pick out the special bottle of wine we will be celebrating with at dinner tonight :)

3 Cheers for #2
Just wanted to announce that Sloan had a breakthrough last night. After several great days with no pee pee accidents :) but several poop accidents :( Sloan finally made #2 in the potty! There was a huge celebration with mommy, Jack, and Sloan dancing and high fiving in the bathroom and the poop was saved to show daddy when he got home from work. I did not, however, take any pictures so everyone else will just have to take my word for it :)

Zoobilation
We went to the zoo yesterday and although it was the hottest, stickiest day, the kids had a lot of fun. We met up with our friends, Mona and Thad, and had a great time. It was really crowded and Sloan did manage to get lost for a few harrowing minutes (which we haven't told daddy about yet). It wasn't really mommy's fault because she didn't realize there was another exit to the playground on the other side of the spider's web. I was standing there waiting for her to come back. After a few minutes I got worried that she hurt herself so I climbed up after her. Imagine my shock when I got to the top of it and saw that there were several paths that led down the hill in the opposite direction and led out to the rest of the park! Obviously the designers of this playground have no children and no sense whatsoever. We managed to find her and she didn't look fazed by her little adventure. I wish I could say the same for mommy. Sloany Potty Trains!
Yesterday was Sloan's first day of potty training. The morning was pretty rough, but by the afternoon she was into it, especially if she gets to flush it. She really loves wearing her pretty Cinderella panties that Nanny bought for her. So far, no No. 2 yet, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that today's the day :)

New Project
Jason thought it would be a great idea if I started a blog site for our family. So here's our (my) first attempt. I don't know how long it will last, but I'm going to give it a try. Its mainly so the grandparents can see what the kids are up to, but we plan to put other stuff in there, too. You know, on the rare occasion when Jason or I do something interesting :) Enjoy.

The Garden Evolution
Starting a garden from scratch again has been fun. But even more fun is sitting back and watching it grow! Here's a before and after shot. As you can see, we've been working pretty hard!
