We went to the zoo today and had a phenomenal time. The weather was fantastic and we all came home exhausted. I think we did everthing from riding the train, climbing trees, splashing in the water and eating snowballs. Oh yeah, and there were some animals involved...

Confrontation with the Zookeeper
Sloan decided she didn't want to just pet this snake, she wanted to hold him. She walked right up and instead of touching him hesitantly like all the other kids, she surprised the holder by wrapping her hand around the snake and pulling. She got a rebuke from the man, but I don't think it even bothered her, she just moved on to the lizard next door. At this point, I don't know what it would take to frighten this child and its got me a little worried.
Amphibian Exibit
The kids loved playing on Money Hill, even though I forgot to bring their bathing suits. Jack was fine until some kid had the nerve to splash him (that's the crying shot) and got his shorts a little wet. Then he wanted to strip down completely even though every other kid had clothes on. My children do not have a problem with nudity (at least their own). We eventually compromised on taking the shorts off but leaving the undies on, but it took threats of bodily harm to keep him from exposing himself. Sloan, of course, thought the wetter the better!
To The Trees!
As usual, my little daredevil had no fear when it came to her first tree climbing experience. She started her way up and never looked back. She climbed higher than any of the bigger kids and everytime I tried to get her to stop she kept saying, "I a GOOD climber, mommy!" I was eventually able to coax her down with the offer of a pink snowball.
The Peacock Chase
Jackson and I had to chase Sloan half way across the zoo because she was chasing this poor bird. Once she caught sight of it roaming the grounds I think she was determined to catch him. We eventually caught up to her when she managed to corner it on a restaurant terrace. She managed to "pet" him a couple of times, but then he got scared and pecked her and I guess she decided it wasn't in her best interest to bring home one of those pretty feathers.

Easter at U-Club
The kids had breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the clubhouse this morning. As usual, Sloan couldn't wait to talk to him and give him a big hug. Jackson wanted nothing to do with him until he saw Sloan go up and not get attacked.
